The complex, 245 North Arlington, will be the first housing complex built from the ground up in Reno’s newest arts and entertainment district

RENO, Nev. (May 10, 2022)— Jacobs Entertainment held a groundbreaking ceremony today at 245 North Arlington, the newest housing complex to be announced in the Reno’s Neon Line District area.

“As the residential community in the Reno’s Neon Line District area grows, we continue to expand on the mission of creating a live-work-play environment downtown,” said Jeffrey Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Jacobs Entertainment. “The new complex, 245 North Arlington, is an important element in the continued development of the district.” 

The apartments will comprise 60 units, including 16 studio apartments, 36 one-bedroom apartments and 8 two-bedroom apartments. In accordance with Jacobs Entertainment’s vision of housing in Reno’s Neon Line District zone, 10 percent of the apartments in 245 North Arlington will be affordable workforce housing units. 

In conjunction with the groundbreaking ceremony, officials also buried a time capsule on site. The time capsule represents the supporters of the project embracing the vibrant history of Reno while forging into the future.

“The City of Reno is continuously looking for solutions to address Reno’s housing crisis,” said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. “It’s critical we explore housing types at all levels to reduce the current strain on the market. I appreciate all the developers who are helping create private and public partnerships to bring more infill housing projects into the market and our downtown core.”

The Reno’s Neon Line District area is a $1.8 billion, mixed-use project that stretches from downtown Reno’s West Street to Keystone Avenue, and from Interstate 80 South to West Second Street. This brand-new live-work-play district will serve as a hub for all ages celebrating Reno’s eccentric culture through pedestrian-friendly amenities, public art, restaurants, retail and entertainment venues.
