RENO, Nev. (April 17, 2025) — Today, officials with Jacobs Entertainment announced the details of their upcoming $128 million in commercial and residential development to take place in downtown Reno over the next four years.
Following the successful opening of the 60-unit 245 North Arlington, the renovation of the historic Gibson Building and unanimous City Council approval of the J Resort Festival Grounds, Jacobs Entertainment is continuing to invest in transforming downtown Reno.
Flanked by renderings of the upcoming commercial and residential developments, Jacobs Entertainment CEO Jeff Jacobs said, “We are very excited to be announcing our next series of developments at J Resort and J Resort’s Reno Neon Line. We continue to work on what I believe will be one of the west coast’s preeminent live, work and play areas of urban revitalization. West 4th Street continues to evolve into an exciting entertainment destination, and West 2nd Street is quickly becoming the street to live on in downtown Reno.”
Today’s announcements include additions at J Resort, including the Rolling Art Banquet Hall, the new J Resort 4th Street entrance and expansion, and J Resort’s Festival Grounds, all of which are currently moving forward. Construction is underway on Rolling Art, a new 400-seat banquet hall combined with a unique pre-function area featuring more than $50 million of European sports cars on display; this will be the only public display of all five of Ferrari’s “supercars.” The J Resort north expansion will include accessible parking, additional gaming, and a new food and beverage concept.
Additionally, Jacobs Entertainment’s ongoing downtown Reno development efforts will include a unique wedding and event space to be known as Glow Gardens, as well as two affordable housing developments: The Breeze, formerly Bonanza Inn, a 57-unit affordable workforce housing development, and a 65-unit development of affordable housing units designed to replace the Reno Housing Authority’s Sarrazin Arms.
Glow Gardens will be a one-of-a-kind 300-seat wedding and special event facility that creatively combines three restored structures, including Chapel of the Bells and the historic Nystrom House, to create a unique new offering in Reno. Erik Fong and his team at One Studio D+A are leading the design work on the Glow Gardens project and numerous other elements of the projects announced today.
Jacobs Entertainment is currently working on design, permitting, and funding for all of these various projects. Funding includes a recent application with the city of Reno designed to direct real estate taxes generated by Jacobs Entertainment’s commercial and market-rate apartments to support the development of the two affordable housing efforts currently underway.
“It is through the use of creative public/private partnerships that cities are able to evolve and tackle problems like eliminating urban blight in order to grow and thrive,” added Jacobs. “Our future Reno plans include more than this upcoming $128 million of development. However, so many people ask us “what’s next, what’s next, what’s next?” that I thought there was no better way to let the community know than by inviting folks out to our soon-to-open J Resort’s Festival Grounds and share our vision of downtown Reno’s future with them,” added Jacobs.
J Resort’s Festival Grounds inaugural festival will be The Drifters Music Festival on May 10-11, a country music festival headlined by Walker Hayes and Randy Houser. More information and tickets can be found at: https://www.driftersmusicfestival.com/
